Safitex, a leading player at FSB trade fair in Cologne, Germany
Safitex’s presence in Cologne at FSB – International Trade Fair for Public Space, Sports and Leisure Facilities confirms the strength of a business project that, over time, has transformed a family-run company into an internationally recognized brand. The event marked the latest milestone in a journey built on investment, research, and an industrial vision capable of combining innovation with continuity.
Over the past two years, the company has taken decisive steps forward with the recent acquisition of the FIFA license, followed by increased production volumes and expanded application areas, alongside consolidation in Italy and growth abroad. Taken together, these achievements reflect an increasingly authoritative position in next-generation synthetic turf.
Eco Next: sustainability and benefits
At the heart of this evolution is Eco Next, a proprietary technology developed by Safitex and launched more than ten years ago. From the outset, the platform has addressed environmental impact through measurable criteria: in 2018, the company was among the first to obtain the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF), also thanks to its collaboration with ENI-Versalis; this year, the company achieved Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification for its branded products, adding a further level of transparency in measuring impact throughout the entire life cycle.
Sustainability, however, does not fully define the product’s identity. Tests conducted by leading industry laboratories have consistently highlighted several technical advantages of Eco Next turf systems: long-term reliability, resistance to wear and deformation, and consistent playability even in extreme weather conditions. Fields built with this technology also demonstrate superior performance when combined with high-performance non-polymeric infills, a solution that strengthens the eco-friendly profile without compromising performance.
The growth of Safitex
This specialization has significantly strengthened Safitex’s presence both in Italy and internationally, attracting interest from markets where sustainability has become a strategic priority. Today, the Bergamo-based company’s products are used in a variety of contexts, including landscape projects and major urban and environmental redevelopment initiatives. Safitex also offers solutions for hybrid sports surfaces, where the integration of synthetic fibers and natural grass is required.
The company’s industrial results are supported by continuous investment in production capacity. The Gandino facility, in the province of Bergamo, remains the company’s core hub: a former textile mill converted into a technological headquarters. Here, a culture of sustainability translates into processes and quality control, all closely connected to the local territory and its well-established manufacturing expertise.
