Performance infills for sports fields

Performance infill commonly used in synthetic turf sports fields, particularly in football and rugby fields.

It consists of recycled rubber granules mainly derived from end-of-life tyres (ELT). This material provides excellent shock absorption and good ball bounce, helping to reduce the risk of injuries for athletes. Black SBR is also appreciated for its high durability and resistance to weathering.

Its dark colour may contribute to an increase in the field’s surface temperature during very sunny days.

Green SBR is an aesthetic evolution of traditional black SBR, obtained through a colouring process that gives the granules a more natural and pleasant appearance. This infill is particularly suitable for multisport fields and areas where aesthetics is an important aspect.

While maintaining the same technical characteristics as black SBR in terms of shock absorption and resilience, green SBR infill sand offers a better visual impact, integrating more effectively with the natural colour of synthetic turf.

Like black SBR, it may contribute to surface heating of the field in particularly hot climatic conditions.

Brown SBR represents an aesthetically improved alternative to classic black SBR, with an appearance reminiscent of clay. This characteristic makes it particularly suitable for sports applications where a more natural visual effect is desired, such as football, rugby or multisport areas.

Made from coloured recycled rubber, brown SBR infill sand maintains properties similar to other SBR infills, including high wear resistance, good shock absorption and excellent elastic behaviour.

As a coloured product, it may require more maintenance to preserve its original appearance over time.

GEO S is a natural-origin performance infill, made from vegetable fibres and selected organic materials to ensure excellent resilience and high shock absorption capacity. This type of infill, suitable for football and rugby fields, is particularly appreciated for its low environmental impact and the good technical performance it offers.

In addition, being a natural product, it helps maintain cooler surface temperatures compared to traditional synthetic infills. However, GEO S may require more careful maintenance to prevent degradation over time and preserve its performance.

OLIVE is composed of granules obtained by grinding olive pits. This organic material offers resilience and shock absorption characteristics comparable to traditional infills, with the advantage of being completely natural and biodegradable.

OLIVE infill is also appreciated for its ability to retain moisture, improving playing comfort and reducing surface temperatures on football and rugby fields. However, as a natural product, it may be subject to progressive degradation over time and require periodic maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

EPDM is a performance infill made of synthetic rubber (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer), known for its excellent resistance to UV rays, weathering and wear.

This material is available in a wide range of colours, with green and black among the most common. EPDM offers consistent performance over time, even in adverse weather conditions, and is particularly suitable for football fields, rugby fields and indoor facilities.

Thanks to its synthetic nature, it offers greater durability than organic infills and requires less maintenance.
